****THE BACK DROP****
She a CUT-T, They a CUT-T, You a CUT-T, He a CUT-T!!!
Who is He?….He is D-M.A.U.B and he's Dedicated to Making All Underestimaters Believers. D-M.A.U.B plans to do this by being a CUT-T.
You too can be a CUT-T if you're compelled to Courageously Uphold The Truth.
Now…What is "The Truth?"…A lot of people (especially in the music business) are claiming to have it. But, what makes yours the TRUTH of all Truthes? For a Christian, this TRUTH should unveil, educate, and reveal all of CREATIONS source of existance and purpose.
So, this is why D-M.A.U.B dedicated to making all underestimaters into believers. Now this could come from two angles. One angle is D-M.A.UB is dedicated to making all underestimaters in his capabilities, opportunities, and effectiveness as a Holy Hip Hopping Christian Rapper into believers. The Second angle is D-M.A.U.B is dedicated to making all underestimaters in GOD's saving grace throught Christ's blood into believers of "The Way."
From the first angle D-M.A.U.B comes across as though he's rapping a lot about himself. This guy proclaims HIMSELF as an Urban Legend. Now…If that ain't self glorification then I'm stupid. But, PUMP your breaks…I had to too. Even though self glorification in HHH is something that is an issue. D-M.A.U.B isn't Tirelessly bragging on his Skills as a Rapper. WHAT A RELIEF.
From the second I had to listen close. Now don't get me wrong D-M.A.U.B is very confident as a rapper but, he boast EVEN more in his UNcompromising walk and convictions to share Christ's Message, Christ's Heart, Christ's Effectiveness, Christ's Love, and simply Christ present Life. He's basically saying that He's real with his walk as a Born Again Believer.
The beauty of this in regards to the first angle is that D-MA.U.B use to rap off beat a little as a couple of years ago.
And now…the beauty of this in regards to the second angle is that NOW Donny "D-M.A.U.B." Harper is striving not miss a beat in his walk unto the Faithful KING. This is exactly why Mr. Harper calls himself a "PROFESSIONAL," which is to say He's Living, Breathing, and Speaking the Christian Faith for real verses being UNPROFFESSIONAL which is to live Anti-Christ.
On Track 5 "My Way" I think D-M.A.U.B might have taken the Second Angle a little too seriously as to say that his plan or way would make the world a better place than it already is : nno murder, no hate, no prejudice, no rape, no theft, etc. I have a problem with this because neither myself nor Mr. Harper could do a better JOB with this earth/world than the ONE who's currently on the Throne and having His way while on it. NOW...I know D-M.A.U.B isn't implying that he cold do a better JOB but, sense he put this song out there, as a Believer I have to look at this through Biblical lenses.

Psalms 24:1 and Psalms 33:5.
The delivery, lyrical creativity, and eneeeerrrrrgy that D-M.AU.B put into this record is rediculus. You CAN NOT get bored listening to this record; not only because of the amazing vocal energy but, also because D-M.A.U.B used the "Less Is More" approach with this album only having 11 songs.
So…lets dig into this Cin City native's latest release.
***FEATURED RAPPERS, SINGERS, and PRODUCERS***
There aren't any featured Artist on the "Urban Legend" album. This is nothing to frown on or look at as selfish. If you paid for D-M.A.U.B, then D-M.A.U.B is what you get with this album. And I must say that Mr. Harper holds it down. He is able to keep you interested in every line, hook, punchline, and meta-meta-phore.
The Producers on this album bring some Legendary heat that BUST out of the Urban confines of typical.
J. Skillz, Spark it Productions, K-Drama, Epik, Sixteentrack, Tony Stone, Reddlettaz alll clown on them beats. A lot of these producers are BIG unKnowns but, their tracks hit like a Public Service Announcement. These beats interupt your regular programming with incredible freshness, heat, and punch. Tony Stone continues his legacy of track lacing. And K-Drama is flawlessly adding to his reprotoire of published and polished Platinum Tips.
***TRACKS TO WATCH FOR and OVERALL QUALITY***
There is so much great energy embodied with in "Urban Legend" the album that good tracks leap off the CD. You definitely want to check for Track 2 "Let's GO" if this song don't get you shouting, 2-steppin', Krumpin', then you don't know a banger when you hear one. Track 9 "Urban Legend," will turn you from a wall flower into a Jabbawockee. Track 8 "So Professional" will put a blaze in your Christian walk inspiring you to step your game up as a honorable SON of God. Track 3 "Stand Out" will convict you to walk upright in your Kingdom authority. Track 7 "People Crazy" should illuminate two scriptures 2 Corinthians 5:16 and 2 Corinthians 5:7.
Creatively D-M.A.U.B brings a fresh approach to Christian Rhyming. He rolls his tongue, quadrooples his phrases, and animates his flow. Sometimes his vocal tone sounds similar to Luda "Chris" Bridges. D-M.A.U.B is almost uncanny with his flow. This brotha got some lyrical acrobatics and calisthenics. His rhymes are provokative and this is proven in the last track of the album Track 11 "In The BEGINNING I Knew EVERYTHING About The END!" Listen and see if you can tell who or what he's talking about or referring to. Trust me this will leave you stupified like M. Knight Shamalan's "The Six Sense."
Overall...The album is stupendously good but, I didn't get the feel of an album. I felt like I had 11 Raw songs by one artist on one CD. There was no flow between one song to the next to give the a connection.
As far as the mixing is concerned, Urban Legend is super clean when it comes to the vocal blends, adlibs, and vocals meshing with the beats. The mastering is slightly above average it could use a little more "umph" so that the GREAT mixing job will stand out. However, having said that the mastering job is "garbage."
Definition: An urban legend or urban myth is a form of modern folklore consisting of stories thought to be factual by those circulating them.
Initially...I raised my eye brows at "Urban Legend" The Album's title because I was like this guy called "himself" a legend....wow that's bold. But, looking into the message of this album Mr. Harper is putting new life into the definition.
Quote: "I know you're watching so I gotta live accordingly / so me being an example is something that you're sure to see / cause I'mma tell you homie nothing means more to me / Than to show the Savior my commitment and my loyality."
With such an expressed passion to live holy, I pray that Mr. Harper is successful in living an unCompromising Christian Life as a Believer. In a time were so many use "Hypocrits" as an excuse as to why their hearts aren't toward GOD, D-M.A.U.B is looking to go from an Urban Legend unto showcasing, glorifying, and honoring the LIVING LEGEND.
This album is simply just another great album that Believers can be proud of as they hit the Blocks to show and exemplify that Christ is not only LEGEND in the Church....He's LEGEND in the Burbs, The Projects, The Trap, Urban, Contemporary, and above all GALACTIC.
